Codes and conventions of websites

INITIAL RESEARCH:

I looked at MOJO, rolling stone, SPIN and billboard and these were initial conventions I found.
-vartiation in text boxes/ styles some longer stand firsts

When scrolling down the menu collapses and continues to show the logo, this helps to display brand identity throughout the website, I want to try to make something similar.

Websites use images to keep eyes on the pages and gain visual interest, they are all a variety of shots and cover a range of articles from celebrities to hard news.

The colour scheme is consistent across magazine and website, making sure to keep a consistent identity across all media platforms to be identifiable to audiences.

Adverts are a large parts of website monetisation the adverts are targeted towards the music audience meaning my adverts will be in line with the interests of 16-25 year olds.

Other conventions:

one focus image in the centre of stories
Websites usually have a main story where a large image is used I found this to be the case to help with visuals interest in the story, the story was either breaking news in the world or a large music event such as the recent Met Gala.

three columns of news
many websites arrange their website to have three main columns of news with the centre column being the largest and the one with the most photos.
