CONTENTS PAGE INSPIRATION
I like this contents page, by FADER, because of its unique layout, I think it is visually appealing and catches your eye, the contents are laid out in sections, with a bold subheading and a brief description. The double spread is also nice and creates a sense of style that will appeal to an audience of 16-25 year olds. the image is also nicely spaced on the page making room for the contents and title. The date is also featured on the contents pages which I will definitely want add.

I like this content page, by FADER, because it is nicely layed out and is simple but doing its job well, the one page makes the content concise and leaves little space, without making the page feel crowded, the top of the page feature the issue number one time in the top left in smaller print and in the top right corner in a stylistic font making it stand out, it also shows the date of the issue and the category the issue falls under, this is all in the same font. I like the mix of fonts highlighting certain areas of text compared to a flat bland typography. I also like the layout with the contents in a table underneath a picture which takes centre stage. the contents are nicely. laid out in section with subheadings and then further subheadings with each article listed.

FADER is very inspirational for interesting contents pages, that vary with every issue, and the vibe of the artist the double page is appealing again with the image repetition being of centre and completely red. I also like the disappearing effect on the contents title that is still readable but falling off the page. The articles are still nicely displayed in a group with page numbers for each issue. I like the convergence between the magazine and the website in the top right with the link to thefader.com. It also has the date of the issue in the top left. My favourite part is the second contents section that is sideways and bold putting emphasis on those articles, one of which is the artists interview.
BILLBOARD
with billboard rebrand the magazine has gone through large change, making striking creative contents pages.
This is a more classic contents page with contents down the left in a column using blue as section breaks and featured articles in the big central column, they also add miniature covers within the contents page adding visual attention to the page.
This contents page is more striking using an image as the main background, creating a contents page that mirrors the cover, making the contents minimalistic down the side of the image and featured bigger over to the left. They add the issue number and information in a yellow box for emphasis and also display the cover information and a message to billboard readers, I like this interesting style and want to try this in the future.
This contents page is a special one for the December issue thanking the team and follows a similar pattern as the contents page above. using minimalistic fonts for the actual contents. The features are again separate, but the age is a double page instead of on a singular page which is something I might experiment with.
